Consider which authors you read most often. What makes their voice or stories stand out?

You might love the tropes they stick with or the themes they continually explore. Maybe their voice is unique due to how they structure their sentences, describe things, or choose their words.

This week’s writing challenge is all about learning from their example.

Write an action story in your favorite author’s style.

That might mean writing an action story within the genre they’re known for or with the same character dynamics they love.

No matter how you choose to emulate their style, you’ll learn to approach your craft in a similar way and finish your story with a new perspective.
