Weekly Writing Challenge 13: Write a Story About the Photographer Behind This Picture

Welcome to this week’s writing challenge prompt!

Practicing narration isn’t always something writers do intentionally. You’ll use it with most stories, whether it’s inner dialogue or 3rd-person POV.

When was the last time you thought about writing a story specifically to practice your narrative voice?

Use this week’s picture as inspiration. Why would the photographer take this picture? What does it mean to them or who are those people in relation to the photographer?

Try writing a short story from any POV that uses the protagonist’s voice to narrate what happens before, during, or after this photo. You’ll have to think about their primary motivation and what they want to create a story with good narrative flow.
